Health Update & Thank You from John French
Thank you to my Faithwalk family for reaching out to me and for your kind words and your prayers. It was a long day on Saturday starting off at leaving the Church at 7:00am traveling down in a van for a FaithWalk servers meeting. I remember waking up at 4:00am and just having a hard time breathing and not getting any oxygen. My initial diagnoses was that I was just anxious and anxiety was kicking in and I said to myself….just calm down. Just walking down the hallway to make a pot of coffee was a struggle. My legs felt heavy, and I just felt weak, like Superman exposed to Kryptonite….I had to sit in my vehicle for a few minutes and rest and catch my breath, in order to drive to the church. The meeting at Springfield walking the distance of 2nd Baptist front doors to our meeting room was a hike for me, I couldn’t hardly go. I had hard labored breathing and my heart was pounding and racing. As long as I was seated it wasn’t too bad but any movement was a struggle. The meeting was over by 1:30pm and I wanted to ask for prayer then, but I didn’t want to call attention to myself, this is not about me…it’s all about the Glory to God. I thank God for answering prayers both spoken and unspoken. We pulled into the church parking lot at 3:00pm in Clinton. I called Woo, my wife, and told her I’m having a hard time breathing. She said have them drop you off at the hospital and we’ll get your vehicle later. I instead drove myself to the hospital at 3:30pm and they did a CT scan and the doctor immediately made arrangements for me to be transported to Research Medical Center in Kansas City. I couldn’t get an ambulance freed up until 9:00 pm! All of the ambulances were doing other transports….I just wanted to go home after church and get in bed…if I had, I might not be here writing this to you now. Lesson for John…do what your wife tells you to do. Plus Shelby, my daughter, telling me the same thing so I said “okay”. (Okay okay okay!) The ER doctor had just sent another patient to Research for this exact same procedure so the team was already in place waiting for me. It was all God and the power of prayer. I don’t get much sleep in hospitals, somebody is constantly wanting more blood or more tests or wants to check on your vitals. But Praise God for his plan falling into place! Thank you Jesus and the Holy Spirit for your presence, wisdom, and guidance. As of today after a weekend vacation of fine dining and five star customer service they are releasing me to come home. I fill either like a pin cushion or a voodoo doll that somebody doesn’t like because my arms have been stuck with so many needles. God knows that Woo doesn’t like to drive in the snow, and Subby says the bad weather is moving in, so He is allowing me to go to my earthly home at least for a while longer. Amen.
